Clear, fair, and transparent processes for handling complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters at Redditch Hockey Club.
This policy ensures all members, players, coaches, volunteers and supporters are treated fairly if concerns are raised.
It sets out how complaints should be made, how the club investigates, and the possible outcomes of disciplinary processes.

Overview of processes
Grievance process:
- Member raises concern (informally first if possible)
- Formal written grievance submitted to Club Secretary or Welfare Officer
- Acknowledgement and investigation initiated
- Outcome communicated with right to appeal
Disciplinary process:
- Issue raised (by coach, captain, committee, or Welfare Officer)
- Initial fact-find and decision on whether to proceed
- Formal hearing convened with notice to member
- Possible sanctions: warning, suspension, removal of membership
- Right to appeal built into process
Roles & responsibilities
Oversees disciplinary processes, appoints panels, ensures fairness
Chairs hearings, communicates decisions
Supports safeguarding-related cases and complainants
Expected to cooperate honestly and respectfully during proceedings
Independent individuals (where possible) to review contested outcomes
