It defines our purpose, how we are managed, and the responsibilities of members and officers.
It also ensures we operate fairly, transparently and in line with England Hockey requirements.

How we’re governed
Purpose & Objects:
Our purpose is to promote and develop hockey for all in Redditch and surrounding areas, providing safe opportunities to play, coach, umpire and volunteer. We aim to balance participation with performance while maintaining a friendly, inclusive culture.
Structure:
The club is overseen by an Executive Committee with named officers and sub-committees. Roles and responsibilities, decision-making authority and reporting lines are set out in the Constitution and confirmed at the AGM.

Redditch Hockey Club is affiliated to England Hockey and governed under its policies and procedures.
To promote participation in hockey at all levels, provide safe and inclusive playing opportunities,
and ensure the club’s activities are fair, transparent and sustainable.
Open to all subject to club policies and capacity. Categories and subscriptions are set at the AGM. Members agree to abide by the Constitution, Codes of Conduct and Safeguarding policies.
AGM held annually with appropriate notice. Eligible members may vote; proxies subject to the rules set out in the Constitution. Special General Meetings may be called in line with the rules.
Committee roles (e.g., Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Captains) are elected at the AGM. The Committee manages day-to-day affairs, sets strategy and ensures compliance.
Club funds are held in dedicated accounts. The Treasurer reports to the Committee and AGM. Budgets and spending require appropriate approval; accounts are prepared annually.
An AGM is held each year to elect officers, approve accounts and consider changes to the Constitution.
Special General Meetings may be called in line with the rules.
A quorum and voting rules are defined in the Constitution.
We uphold England Hockey guidance. Welfare Officers lead on safeguarding. Members must follow club policies on safety, conduct, photography, social media and equality.
Standards of behaviour are expected on and off the pitch. Complaints, grievances and disciplinary matters follow published procedures with fair investigation and right of appeal.
Changes require proper notice and a qualifying majority at a General Meeting, as detailed in the Constitution.
If the club is dissolved, remaining assets are distributed in line with the Constitution and applicable law for community sport organisations.
