Redditch Hockey Club 1st Team continued their impressive run of form with a 5-1 victory away at Bournville 2nds.The result moves the kingfishers above Bournville and local rivals Bromsgrove into 4th place in West Midlands Division 1, three points behind the league leaders Market Drayton, Stourport and Ludlow who are all tied on 13 points.Redditch were expecting a tough game against Bournville who prior to this fixture had only conceded three goals in their previous four matches. Mens 1s 7v1 West Brom 1sRedditch Mens 1s secured their second 7-1 victory in a row to keep them in the early running in West Midlands Div 1.Redditch instantly controlled possession and were soon ahead as Jacob Beard's reverse stick shot was deflected through the goalkeepers legs by Mike Slater to give him his 3rd goal of the season. A slight scare in defence did give West Brom an opportunity but it was struck wide of Joe Cardy's goal. Redditch Mens 1s secured their first West Mids Div 1 league victory of the 2018/19 season by beating Leek 3s 7-1 at home.After rocky starts in the previous 2 games, Redditch looked in control of this fixture from the start. Jacob Beard’s fine strike into the very bottom corner of the goal gave the Kingfishers an early lead which was doubled only minutes later through Mike Slater.Redditch controlled the majority of possession and more chances followed before James Makin fired home for the 3rd. Match Reports 6th October

Men’s 1s travelled to Stourport expecting a difficult game after Stourport beat Leek 3s 7-1 the week before. In similar fashion to the week before, Redditch started tentatively and soon themselves 1-0 down after conceding a penalty flick.
