Promoted Kingfishers facing a new challenge
REDDITCH Hockey Club are gearing up for the 2019/20 season when the men’s first team will be playing at a higher level in the West Midlands Premier Division.
Back in April, the club celebrated the 2018/19 campaign which showed plenty of promise after much hard work and ended with promotion for the men after a dramatic 2-1 victory against promotion rivals Ludlow on the last day of the West Midlands Division One season.
Jacob Beard finished top goalscorer with 21 goals to his name and he will be aiming for more goals when the Kingfishers start the new campaign at Sutton Coldfield 2nds on October 5.
The men’s 2nds, 3rds and 4ths had a difficult season in the newly-established league structure and on the ladies’ side the first team also had a difficult season, but the 2nds enjoyed more success.
